My Hauptwerk Setup

 The pipe organ music you find on this blog was produced using a VSTi (Virtual Studio Technology instrument) called Hauptwerk. Here is a view of what the console looks like when open in Cakewalk Music Creator 5.

I open Hauptwerk in my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), Cakewalk Music Creator, in order to apply reverbation to the sound and give it some ambience, otherwise the sound is very "dry."

In order to control the console and make it play music I use Noteworthy Composer 2. Each staff in Noteworthy is tied to the manuals and pedal. The swell manual is on MIDI channel 3, great manual is on MIDI channel 2, and the pedal board is on MIDI channel 1.

The MIDI interface between Hauptwerk and Noteworthy is MIDI Yoke. In Noteworthy I changed the staff properties to use MIDI Yoke as the playback device so the information gets routed to the organ.

The MIDI channels on the VSTi must correspond to the same ones used on the individual staves in Noteworthy.
